Tuff Spot Fishing

While browsing in a hardware store I came across these fishing nets which I had recently seen at a children’s festival paired with some plastic ducks. So we snapped up 4 of them and marched home with them collecting pine cones as we went.

Once home I tried to find our plastic ducks but it appears they had gone for a swim some where so instead I poured out the plastic balls and filled the tray with water to create and fishing game to help the children’s coordination, gross motor skills and communication.

The boys enjoyed scooping up the balls and comparing how many they had. It was a great activity for encourage counting and discussing words such as more or less. Once they counted them up they would pour them out and start again.

Once the boys got bored of fishing for the balls they decided it would be more fun to jump in the water and kick out the balls.

Great fun in this hot weather we have been blessed with lately. the boys loved this activity and I hope the ducks will swim back soon for us to try it with them.
