Before I had peanut his bedroom was filled with piles of baby items as well as lists as long as your arm of bits and bob's I needed to remember for taking to hospital and things I still needed to buy. I am not a very organised mum so lists are the only way to go for me, although they usually get lost or look a mess so need rewriting all the time. For me things like this were a must for me and by the end I took to writing things down in my phone.
I spent my maternity leave watching programme's on women's labour's and reading up on the options available to me. Most women do this right? Any one would have thought this was my first baby instead of third. It's amazing what you can forget in three years. This time round even my husband was reading up on pregnancy sites to see what stage Peanut was at. I would regularly get messages from him about changes to the babies body and how his senses had developed.
I downloaded many app's on my iphone but never found a good one that was free. Many would cover the stages of pregnancy but unless you wanted to pay would not let you go pasted the first trimester. Typically I have now come across a great new one from Aptaclub (Aptamil) and its free which is always a plus in my box. Just my luck that I would find it after his born.
Aptaclub UK is a service that supports mums and mums-to-be from pregnancy right through to toddlerhood. The Aptaclub is available to join on line and once you are a member they send you through a cute little polar bear and a handy information book on pregnancy and parenthood.
You can download the free app from Aptaclub in the iTunes App Store. The app supports mums-to-be in their third trimester of pregnancy, to prepare for labour and her baby’s arrival.
· The app features:
- 6 editable checklists to help stay organised, all of which can be shared (e.g. what to include within your hospital bag, shopping lists)
- Tips and practical advice to prepare for labour and birth
- An easy-to-use contraction timer
- A personalised birth announcer with a range of templates
I think my favourite apart is the baby announcer Such a great way of letting every one know that your little bundle has arrived.
