This year P discovered this she was now allergic to apples and pears. This didn't surprise me her dad as he got older found the same thing and apparently this can be connected to their hay fever however I'm also wondering if it could be connected to the chemicals used to help the fruit grow. So this year we will be making the switch to organic and not only that but I am keen to try and grow as much of our own fruit and veg as possible. I will be making more of an effort to check foods to make sure they contain natural ingredients which seems more and more common now in food stores even well known brands such as Walkers are switching to natural flavours in their Crisps.
So this year I plan to grow tomatoes, peppers, cucumber, strawberries, pears, a mixture of berries and mixed salad. I'm hoping this will encourage the children to try more variety and also with Peanut starting to wean by the summer the food will be freely available for him too. Mean while I've been pinning crazy on Pinterest for some gardening ideas so please do go and check them out.
From the 18th of March we will be running a linky for other bloggers to show what fun they have been having in the garden with their children. Whether its planting seeds or activity ideas please feel free to come back and share them.
