Summer Adventures: Splash Park

This week I took the plunge and we went on our first large day out. This involved taking two buses each way (I dont drive) and this is what I dreaded most of all. In the end the bus trip was fine and we all had a great time. The sun shone all day and by the end of the day we were all shattered. The children enjoyed the splash park, fair rides and having a sausage and chips picnic.

This wasn't the most frugal idea I have had the trip easily cost £60 for me and the three children but Im hoping to recreate the splash park in the garden in a few weeks.

Summer Adventures: Water Tray Sea World

The holidays have started!!!

Although work for me will carry on as normal, I'm so excited that I will get to spend some more quality time with G and get to take the children out on a few day trips. For us the holidays are going to be about living a frugal life style and trying to keep them busy on a budget. I'm hoping to share some of the ideas I have through the Summer Adventures Linky.

The sun has finally made an appearance and what great timing. This weekend the children spent their time playing outside while we sorted out the wild growing weeds and grass. So we cleaned out the sand tray which had been left out in the rain over the last few weeks and made it into an small world ocean.

Resources:
Rocks
Plastic sea animals
Weeds
Water
Sand/water/ tuff spot tray.
You could also add blue food colouring but we had run out

Having a joint water tray proves really handy since there is quite a wide gap in our childrens age. It means that they can play with the water and toys in different ways with out too many arguements.

G enjoyed making up a story with the two seals. They hid under the sea weed and jumped onto rocks to escape the jelly fish.

Jack enjoyed hiding the animals undernieth rocks and shells. then discovering them again once they were all hidden. When he had found them all again I helped him to count them out.

Fantastic baby gifts from Baby Blooms

Two and a half years ago Little Man came into the world. Like many lucky families we received lots of wonderful gifts from our friends and family. One gift that even now sticks in my mind was from my dad and his other half. It came in a beautiful large light blue box and was wrapped in blue tissue paper. Once I had got through the packaging I found a stunning bouquet made of socks, a vest, a hat and many other little surprises. For a month the flowers sat in in clear view for every body to see and I was so sad to open it up, but I needed to make use of them before they became too small for Little Man. I kept the silk flowers as a keep sake and the clothes were fantastic quality.

Now with Little man being nearly three and another baby on the way. We were lucky enough to be sent some gifts from Baby Blooms. So in return I thought its only right to let you know how great this company is.

BabyBlooms pride them selves as the UK's leading new baby gifts company and the pioneer of baby clothes bouquets - a beautiful and more lasting alternative to fresh baby flowers. However now the site offers so much more and acts as a one stop shop when buying gifts for babies and young children.

Baby Blooms offer a wide range of clothing made gifts such as lollipops, cupcakes and gift baskets. These are my favourite choice of present for an expecting mum. I love that they last so long and the flowers are useful afterwards.

They have a range of babies soft toys and presents. Our favourites are the hungry caterpillar collection which seems to be coming into the shops at the moment. We plan to use this theme in our babies nursery because of the bright and vibrant colours.

Baby Blooms also have a wide section for parents gifts in case you fancy buying the lucky mum or dad a gift too. This set in particular I also received when I had Little man and the Burts Bees collection is now always used in our house due to the natural and good quality that comes with their products.

So please do pop by their site and see some of the amazing gifts they offer. As I mentioned at the beginning of the post we received products in return for this post.
